In the 15 minute consultation, we will review the highlights of your case and any relevant data to your pain. Please bring in any images (MRI,CT, X-ray, etc.) to be reviewed. In concluding the consultation we will discuss if you are a good fit for treatment.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
The doctor will need you to be able to move freely during your visit, so please bring/wear comfortable or exercise type clothing to your appointment. Loose clothing allows the doctor access to evaluate your complaint (ex: shorts for knee or leg complaint, tank top for shoulder or upper back issue).
What conditions do we treat?
If you have pain, you most likely are able to be treated. Common conditions that we see are headaches, migraines, Muscle Spasm, Lumbar Disc Degeneration, Osteoarthritis, Neck Pain, Carpal Tunnel, Shoulder Pain, Repetitive Muscle Strains & Overuse Injuries, Sciatica, Golfer’s/Tennis Elbow, Back Pain, Plantar Fasciitis, Hip Pain, Knee Pain, Ankle and Achilles Pain, Numbness, Tingling, Disc Herniation, Rotator cuff injuries, Arthritis, Hip pain, Shin splints, etc.. Please contact us if you don’t see your condition or have any more questions.
What is treatment like?
Based upon your exam we can determine which areas are limited by adhesion. We then apply pressure to the affected area, moving it through a full range of motion to reduce the adhesion. This entire process is done with your comfort in mind and will often feel like tension building followed by relief.
How does treatment work?
As adhesion is removed and broken down, blood and oxygen flows to the muscle and function is improved.
What home care can I do to make this go faster?
Sadly once adhesion has formed, the only way to get rid of adhesion is through professional treatment. In the early stages of care, to help the healing process you will be asked to reduce the amount of load you put on your body. As the condition improves, you will become more involved with care, potentially with home exercises when your body is equipped to handle that load.
How long does a treatment plan last and when will I get pain relief?
On average, a single region of complaint (i.e. shoulder or low back) can reach full resolution or maximum medical improvement in an average of 12-18 visits. Our doctors typically see sustainable functional changes that are measured within 1-3 visits. Most patients begin to feel sustainable improvements in pain within 3-6 visits.
Who is our ideal patient?
If you fall into any of the categories listed below then we are the place for you:
Dealing with an injury that hasn't resolved with other forms of treatment
Trying to avoid surgery for your problem
Had surgery and still not any better
Looking to increase your performance and stay injury free
Been told you just have to live with your injury and pain
Frustrated with your current treatment plan and results
Been injured for some time and never got an accurate diagnosis
Looking to recover quicker after surgery
How do I know if the doctors will be able to help?
If you have any muscle, joint, or nerve problems then you are a good candidate. This is our doctors’ expertise. If you have tried other treatments with no luck or haven’t reached your maximum level of improvement, then you are also a good candidate. Our doctors specialize in finding and fixing adhesion, which is a difficult problem to find and even more difficult to fix, as it is not trained in any doctorate education. Our type of care is highly specialized and unique so all potential new patients will make a consultation first. The consultation is 15 minutes and the doctors will briefly discuss your case with you to determine if you are in the right place.
Why is muscle adhesion so important?
Muscle adhesion is the most common cause for pain, weakness and decreased flexibility in the human body. Adhesions are under diagnosed or completely missed by many practitioners. In many cases it doesn't show up on an XRAY or MRI so many doctors completely disregard it. When adhesion builds up over time it can lead to more force being put on the tendons, cartilage and ligaments leading to ruptures later on down the road. Thankfully, adhesions are completely reversible with the expert treatment that Dr. Codina specializes in and can be removed non-invasively with hands or an instrument.
Why don't you perform chiropractic adjustments?
Chiropractic adjustments are simply short term pain relief and do not treat adhesion. If we don’t focus on the removal of adhesion, the symptoms will keep returning.
Can other treatments do the same thing?
The short answer is no. There are other treatments that may appear similar, but the proof is in the results.
Why is this different than traditional Chiropractic or Physical Therapy?
Unfortunately, our current medical model for musculoskeletal injuries is awful, patients don't get what they deserve and the providers only diagnose and treat based on what they are trained in, instead of what they truly need. In many cases people who are injured end up with a "cookie cutter" or "one size fits all" approach to their problem. This leads to some pretty poor outcomes, leaving the patient suffering even more. At Whole Life Spine and Soft Tissue our focus begins with an accurate diagnosis, this leads to the appropriate treatment for your problem with a results driven focus. All of our results are measurable and accurate that allows us to get a full resolution to your injury and pain.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept all major credit cards, FSA (Flexible Savings Account), HSA (Health Savings Account), as well as cash or check.
Will you submit to my insurance company?
Sorry but no, insurance companies don’t care about you and you having your pain resolved, they only care about saving money and keeping costs low. We care about giving you the highest quality treatment and diagnosis to help you find relief and have successful outcomes. Because of this we only accept cash, credit, flex spending/HSA, or check. Though we can provide the necessary forms needed for you to submit to your insurance for them to reimburse you directly.
Do you accept auto claims, workers comp and personal injury cases?
Short answer is no. We do accept anyone in pain or that has an injury but we will not go through your lawyer or insurance directly. Payment by the patient is required at the time of service and the necessary forms can be provided to the patient to submit to the required party or can be sent directly to the required party.
